The Hal-Life Model viewer is developed to view models in .mdl, which is a Half-Life engine format. Models are seen with texture, a wire-frame and the viewer also has options for attachments and hit boxes. Users may also view the animation sequences of the model through the drop-down box in order to ensure that the model is working properly in the game. Models with multiple textures and multiple attachments are supported, with an option to make alterations or modifications in the texture of the model. It can stop animation playing, view the scale of mesh and the scale of bones. GCFScape is an application that can open and extract GCF files used by Steam for storage of its game contents.GCFScape is required to open files with VPK format.
