Quadruple D Archiver

Quadruple D Archiver

Quadruple D Archiver is the archiving utility built into the Quadruple D (Do the DirectDraw with Delphi). Quadruple D is a DirectX library for Delphi developed by “SANDMAN”, a Japanese programmer. It is widely used by Japanese game programmers and is in fact the graphics library for Japanese PC games written in Delphi. DirectX library provides a set of application programming interface (API) that users can utilize to create high performance multi-media applications and games, including support for 2D and 3D graphics. The archiver utility combines a number of files together into one archive file, or sometimes creates a series of archive files for easier transportation and storage. The DirectX library archive files are given the .QDA extension file name, which means that these files were created by the Quadruple D Archiver and can be opened only by using the same utility.

a word of warning

Be careful not to rename the extension on .qda files, or any other files. This will not change the file type. Only special conversion software can change a file from one file type to another.

what is a file extension?

A file extension is the set of three or four characters at the end of a filename; in this case, .qda. File extensions tell you what type of file it is, and tell Windows what programs can open it. Windows often associates a default program to each file extension, so that when you double-click the file, the program launches automatically. When that program is no longer on your PC, you can sometimes get an error when you try to open the associated file.
